WILL DECIDE ON PULL OUT OF NDA LATER: UDDHAV

- HT Correspondents

MUMBAI: Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray Tuesday said the decision on pulling out of the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Front would be taken after due discussion.

“We won’t take any decision hastily. I will discuss it with party MPs and then decide on pulling out of the NDA,” Thackeray told the media on Tuesday.

The Sena chief had on Monday told the media that the party’s minister in union cabinet Anant Geete would submit his resignation after Prime Minister Narendra Modi returns from his US tour.

Uddhav’s statement came a day after his cousin and MNS Chief Raj Thackeray taunted that the Sena was sticking to power at Centre even after the BJP walked out of the alliance with it.

Meanwhile, Sena’s former ally Raju Shetti of Swabhimani Shetkari Paksha appealed Uddhav not to take any decision in haste and continue with the NDA till the assembly election results are out.

Meanwhile, PM Narendra Modi will embark on ‘Mission Maharashtra’ by holding three election rallies in different parts of the state, including Mumbai, on Saturday, October 4. The BJP’s star campaigner is expected to address 15-20 such rallies before the state goes to assembly polls on October 15. ANIL BAIJAL APPOINTED ADVISOR TO MAHA GUV The central government Tuesday appointed former Union home secretary Anil Baijal as advisor to Maharashtra governor Chennamaneni Vidyasagar Rao. Baijal, a 1969 batch IAS officer, was also considered for the post of national security advisor after Narendra Modi took over as prime minister earlier this year.
