DIRECT BENEFIT TRANSFER FOR LPG IN UP FROM JAN 1

Modified Direct Benefit Transfer for LPG (MDBTL) scheme will be launched in Uttar Pradesh on January 1, 2015. As per the scheme, customer can receive subsidy in their bank account with or without Aadhaar numbers in two ways. Those having Aadhaar number will receive the amount directly into the account, while customers without Aadhaar number will have to link their Bank account number, IFSC code with their LPG distributo­rs.

Modified Direct Benefit Transfer for LPG (MDBTL) scheme will be launched in Uttar Pradesh on January 1, 2015.

As per the scheme, customer can receive subsidy in their bank account with or without Aadhaar numbers in two ways.

Those having Aadhaar number will receive the amount directly into the account, while customers without Aadhaar number will have to link their Bank account number, IFSC code with their LPG distributo­rs.

By linking the LPG ID (given by distributo­r), the 17 digit consumer number would be made available on LPG refill voucher with their respective banks.

Indian Oil general manager UP Singh said: “The required forms for the linking of Aadhaar numbers and bank accounts will be made available at LPG distributo­rships as well as on website within couple of days.”

568 on first booking after joining the scheme enabling them to pay for LPG cylinder at market rates. Subsequent­ly, prevalent subsidy amount will be transferre­d in the bank account of these consumers for each subsidised refill delivered. “To avoid last minute rush for Aadhaar enrolment and bank account linking, LPG consumers are advised to get their Aadhaar enrolled or bank accounts opened and subsequent linking well within time for smooth transfer of LPG subsidy through this scheme,” said Singh.
