LUCKNOW: The Sikh community of Lucknow celebrated the 546th birth anniversar­y of Guru Nanak Dev with fervour on Thursday. The gurudwaras were decorated with flowers, flags and posters depicting various aspects of Sikhism. At Gurudwara Ashiana, the celebratio­n began with the recital of Asa Di War, followed by Shabad Kirtan of various Ragi Jatthas. Thousands of Sikhs from all over the city gathered here to pay homage to the Guru. Several stalls displaying the teachings of various Sikh gurus were also put up. A health camp and a blood donation camp were organised by Lions Club Premier. Shraddha Sawhney, Vinod Ratra, Arvinder Singh Kohli and Nirmal Singh along with head of Gurudwara Ashiana Jasbeer Singh Chaddha were present on the occasion. A langar was also held. In the Gurunanak Jayanti celebratio­ns porgramme at Bal Sangrahala­ya by Gurudwara Nak Hindola, president of Gurudwara Prabandhak Samiti Rajendra Singh Bagga called on youths to follow the footsteps of Guru Nanak who served humanity throughout his life.
