Smriti objects to English pamphlets at Hindi Sansthan
AGRA: Union minister for human resource development (HRD) Smriti Irani on Thursday raised objection over pamphlets in English illustrating details about the multipurpose hall that would be coming up at the Kendriya Hindi Sansthan (KHS).
According to her, if KHS is an institute for popularising Hindi and hundreds of students reach here to study this language, then the illustration literature should have been in Hindi. These documents were later removed from the makeshift board at the institute.
The actress-turned-politician was here to preside over the meeting of the governing council and laid the foundation stone for the international cultural hall at the institute.
After the foundation-laying ceremony, she moved to have a look at the pamphlets pasted on the makeshift board illustrating details about the upcoming multipurpose hall.
After presiding over the meeting of the governing council, the minister lauded the role of Kendriya Hindi Sansthan in propagating Hindi and emphasised on popularising it amongst the youth of the nation.
“Those who are involved in popularising Hindi and act as bridge between Hindi and tribal languages in states would be honoured with two different awards. One of these awards would be in name of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and the other would be a national level award by the HRD ministry,” informed Irani.
