NEW DELHI: Economic reforms and political compulsions can be managed, if the reforms are not against the common man, Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu said at the India Economic Summit.

Naidu, who is known for implementing aggressive reforms during his stint as chief minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh, said, “I have learnt in my last one decade of political career that reforms and politics can be managed, if we can effectively communicate and demon- strate the benefit to the people.” Economic reforms create wealth and are necessary, he added.

Exuding confidence on making Andhra Pradesh the most favourable investment destina- tion, Naidu said, “I’m confident that not only IT, but also electronic hardware manufacturing, automobile, agro-processing, petrochemicals hub and pharma will come. Everything will come.”

“Andhra Pradesh has a 1,000km coastline, no other state has such a large coastline. On the east cost, we have four ports and are going to develop another 10. Ultimately we want to make Andhra Pradesh a port hub and a gateway for India... I also have a target of providing broadband connectivity to every house in Andhra Pradesh with a speed of 100 megabits per seconds... We will achieve it soon” he added.
