A fresh plan to instill sporting spirit in corporates

LUCKNOW: In the hectic life of people working in the corporate sector, the CII Young Indians Corporate Cricket Cup, starting Saturday, is all set to generate new enthusiasm and excitement.

The event will see over 172 players working in different positions at 12 big corporate houses of the state capital vie for the top honours. HT Media Limited is the media partner of the event.

“Sports activities have a twoway perspectiv­e, especially in the corporate world. They not just keep the employees fit, healthy and active but also prevent them from getting monotonous,” Sachin Agarwal, chairman, CII UP State Council said on Thursday.

Through this event, CII has also taken an initiative to invite several corporates to adopt at least one village school where they would built a toilet especially for girls. “The state government has already done a commendabl­e job in promoting cleanlines­s and proper sanitation facilities. Support from the industry would give synergetic result,” added Agarwal, who is also the managing director of PTC Industries Limited.

Detailing about the tournament and its aim, chairman, YI, Lucknow Chapter, Gaurav Prakash said it was a social col- laboration of corporates from Lucknow and an occasion to celebrate the spirit of togetherne­ss. “It gives the corporate people a chance for a social interactio­n across the entire hierarchy of the organisati­ons as the different players hold positions like manager, senior managers, regionals heads and executives in their offices,” he added.

“We are in full support of young, dynamic chief minister of the state, Akhilesh Yadav, especially because of his all-round vision for the growth and developmen­t of the state. Sports play a very important and vital role in unifying the people and lead to good teamwork amongst them,” Prakash said.

tiatives like MSME conclave, CSR Conference, Indian Green Building Council Launch, etc. We are also closely working with the state government on many fronts and having a pan India presence, CII has developed a deep understand­ing of the industrial need and requiremen­ts,” he added.
