MIZORAM TEACHER ARRESTED FOR ABUSING STUDENTS

AIZAWL: A government school teacher was arrested in Mizoram on charges of raping and sexually abusing 32 students, police said here on Friday. “Saichal village (Champhai district in Mizoram) primary school teacher Lalhmingmawia, 30, was arrested on Friday after first information reports were lodged with the police by parents of two victims,” a police official said. The official said subsequent inquiry and interrogation of the teacher revealed that he had either molested or raped 30 more girl students in the past three years.
