Dhoni not there, but the smell of biryani still strong

MS Dhoni made headlines a couple of months ago when he decided to move out of a hotel with his team, CSK, during the CLT20. The India captain was apparently denied home-cooked biryani from Ambati Rayudu’s home by the Grand Kakatiya and decided to move to another hotel.

Hyderabad is once again hosting a match. Though Dhoni opted out of this series, his presence could still be felt here. The board’s decision to opt for the Taj Krishna at least suggests so.

Why not the Kakatiya? “I am assuming it is because of the biryani episode,” said a local official.

It’s notable to add that teams in the past stayed at Grand Kakatiya during international fixtures.
