LUCKNOW: A two-day programme aimed at empowering the youth with positive thoughts kicked off at the Ravindralaya here on Saturday.

Organised by the Gayatri Pariwar, the seminar included speakers such as Rakesh Mittal from Kabir Peace Mission, Jayant Krishna, principal consultant and regional head TCS, former DGP Vikram Singh and AK Dutta from Shanti Kunj. They focused on instilling confidence among the youth and encouraging them to become social entrepreneurs rather than blindly chasing corporate or government sector. The speakers said the youth should be motivated to become creators.

While Jayant Krishna said that India needed one million entrepreneurs by 2020-people who could solve complex problems of society through workable and sustainable business models, Vikram Singh said that Sanskar began from home and the onus was on the parents to make their children good citizens.

Mittal also emphasised on the need to change thinking of the youth to be able to give them the right direction in life. “Youth’s energy is distorted and needs to be channelised in a positive direction. The rising crimes are a result of this distorted thinking. Changing the way youth thinks is the need of the hour and Gayatri Pariwar is focusing on the same subject,” said major VK Khare of Gayatri Pariwar Trust.
