Majhi warns nurses against taking money from patients
LUCKNOW: Minister of state for health Shankhlal Majhi on Saturday warned the paramedical staff, especially the nurses, to improve their behaviour, as during inspection, complaints were poring in about them taking money from patients.
He said money, if taken by one, damaged the image of all medical staff, so it had to be kept in mind that nursing was a noble profession and people like Florence Nightingale had offered selfless service to patients.
Addressing the annual convention of nurses in the city, Majhi said the complaints were often found prima facie true and

action was also taken, but there was still a need for improvement.
At the same time, the minister assured nurses that their pending demands, including reduction in working hours and overload, would soon be considered. He said all 11 points in the demand letter handed over to him by the office-bearers of the nurses association would be considered.
