AWARENESS AND RESEARCH INDEX
At a time when post-graduating students from IIM Lucknow in collaboration with UP State Aids Control Society were busy attempting to make their way into the record books, teams from various colleges were vying with each other in street play competitions aimed at spreading awareness to combat HIV/AIDS.
The second and final day day of IIM Lucknow’s Index buzzed with activity as over 10,000 people from the city converged at Moti Mahal lawns to be a part of the fair. “The finals of the Nukkad Natak competition, ‘Jaagriti’, were held to create awareness on AIDS. Team A from BBDNITM College won while IET Lucknow and BBDNITM team B were declared the first and second runners-up. The event was judged by Praveen Chandra, CEO of Josh the-
atre group. Besides, students from many other schools and colleges participated in an RJ Hunt and a flash mob, on the theme of Diageo-NDTV’s Road to Safety campaign. The participants pledged to make Indian roads safer.
One of the flagship events of the fair, Mr and Ms INDEX, held in the evening saw a good turnout of people. The three rounds - introduction, talent round and Q&A- were judged by Prashanta from Emerson and Anurag from Nestle. Vishal Singh of Azad Inter College and Ayushi Vaish of Lucknow University were declared winners. The winners from the Nukkad Natak competition, Mr & Ms INDEX and Saturday’s dance competition won a wild card entry to Channel V’s India Fest to be held in Goa.
