Jamiat-e–Ulema-Hind opposes RSS ideology, stresses on harmony
MEERUT: The two-day convention of Jamiat-e -Ulema-Hind (Arshad Madni) opposed the ideology of RSS and passed a seven-point resolution, which emphasised promoting ideology of harmony and brotherhood.
Many clerics, scholars and office-bearers of Jamiat participated in the convention, which was held at Deoband in Saharanpur and concluded on Sunday. After long discussions and speeches, participants unanimously discarded the RSS ideology and said, “We shall oppose even prime minister Modi if he follows the RSS ideology”.
“We have no grudges against Modi. He is the PM of the country so he should take everyone with him, irrespective of caste, community and religion,” said the speakers who also emphasized on promoting harmony and brotherhood among people.
The organisation’s president Maulana Arshad Madni, general secretary Maulana Aleem Farooqui, Maulana Kamruddin, Maulana Asad Rasheedi, Maulana Habiburrehman Azmi and Maulana Abdul Rasheed were among the prominent leaders and clerics who addressed the gathering and called upon people to join hands against

communalism and work for spreading the message of brotherhood.
In its seven-point resolution the convention emphasised on promoting harmony and waging a battle against communalism and demanded that anticommunal violence bill should be passed immediately. It also raised the issue of reservation for Muslims and criticised the Congress government for failing to introduce a bill in the Parliament during its 10-year tenure.
The convention also slammed the Mulayam Singh government for making hollow promises of providing 18% reservation to Muslims and expressed dismay that the SP government in the state did not do anything in this regard.
