TCS triumph in style, HT go down fighting in opener
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Proplatrity scored contrasting wins to collect full points in the CCI-Yi Corporate Cricket Cup, at the Ram Swaroop College ground here on Sunday.
TCA defeated SRM Group by 21 runs, whereas Propalrity defeated media partner of the event Hindustan Times by just three runs.
Backed with a sparkling and unbeaten knock of 60, which came off 47 balls with the help of five fours and a six by Vikas Saxena, TCS piled up 4/140 in 20 overs.
In reply, SRM Group, could make 5/119 in 20 overs. Praveen struck highest 59 in 49 balls with the help of seven fours, whereas Kshitiz Vohra took 2/13 for TCS.
Earlier, it was opener Prakhar, who made all the difference for the Propalrity. After getting as many as five lives, including three easy catches, the righthand batsman slammed 51-ball 64, which contained five fours and three sixes to help the side score 131 in 19.2 overs while batting first after winning the toss.
HT in reply could make 128 in 19.4 overs. Rohit Singh scored 27-ball 25, whereas Ravindra Pratap Singh made 16-ball 21. Prakhar, who took 3/27, was later adjudged man-of-thematch, whereas Nilanjan finished with 3/28.
