4 women paraded naked in village of Shahjahanpur

In a shameful act, family members of a girl, who had eloped with a boy, paraded four women of the boy’s family naked on the streets of Hareva village, under Jalalabad police station in Shahjahanpur on Saturday. Strangely, the oppressors included women.

Police have arrested four persons and placed the women accused under house arrest for the night. Police force has been deployed in the village after senior officials visited the place.

Meanwhile, director general of police Arvind Kumar Jain has directed SP, Shahjahanpur RPS Yadav to probe the incident and ensure strict action against the offenders.

He also directed IG, Bareilly zone, Vijay Singh Meena and Dy IG, Bareilly range, RKS Rathore to monitor the situation in the village.

According to police, the girl’s family members, including her father, went to the boy, Santosh’s house and after not getting a satisfactory answer about the girl’s whereabouts they beat up Santosh’s mother Munni Devi, dragged her to their house and held her hostage.

After sometimes, four women of the girl’s family along with her father visited the house of Santosh and dragged four women out, stripped them, paraded them naked in the village and then held them also hostage in their house.

Meanwhile, some villager called the police. Circle officer Jalalabad Adesh Tyagi along with a police team rushed to the village and got the hostages freed. The cops later arrested four accused, including the girl’s father Sarvesh.

Superintendent of police (rural) Asharam Yadav said investigation was on, even as FIRs were filed by both parties.
