The UP Board will declare its examination results from its Allahabad headquarters at 12.30 pm on Sunday. This year, the board has set a new record by announcing the results ahead of ICSE and CBSE boards.

The results can be checked at www. upmsp.nic.in and www.upresults.nic. in. A total of 64.23 lakh examinees had registered for the examination - 34.98 lakh for high school and 29.24 lakh for intermediate. In Lucknow, 57,874 students appeared for high school exam and 50,475 candidates took the intermediate exam.

However, this year seven lakh less students appeared for the examination, pointing to the fact that the UP Board is fast losing popularity. The examinees’ count decreased by 4.94 lakh for high school and by 2.02 lakh for intermediate exam. New schools are now either seeking affiliation to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or the ISC Board.

However, a UP Board official said candidates were fewer this year because online registrations had done away with bogus registrations, which were earlier done by the copying mafia.
