Asserting that they have “left the shadow of AAP behind”, its expelled founding leaders Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan, who have regrouped under the banner of ‘Swaraj Abhiyan’, on Saturday said that their “fight against corruption and policies which are leading to skewed employment generation and agrarian crisis” would continue.

Addressing a joint press conference after holding a ‘Swaraj Samvad’ here, Yadav, Bhushan and Anand Kumar did not rule out forming an alternative political outfit for now.

“...Right now our emphasis is on channelling the deep resentment within the society which finds cheated by every successive government,” they said.

While talking about AAP, Bhushan said that the party had distanced itself from core issues for which it had been constituted. As per the former AAP leader, party chief Arvind Kejriwal, instead of taking a collective decision, imposed his own views.

Earlier, speaking during the Swaraj Samvad meeting, Bhushan launched a scathing attack on the Modi government and alleged that its policies “reminded one of Russia immediately after the fall of the Soviet Union where private enterprise and growth rate were touted as a panacea.”

Lashing out at UPA government as well as Modi government, Prashant Bhushan said both were the same.

Yogendra Yadav said that a two-day meeting of 150 members of the Samiti had been called in Delhi on May 19 and 20 where constitution of the Samiti would be finalised after which the same would be announced on May 21. Referring to status of the Samiti, Yadav said that it was a political organisation but denied any plans to launch a separate political outfit which would work to explore ground for alternative politics.

Yadav said in 2006 in UP, 30% children in the rural areas studied in private schools while at present 52% children in rural areas were studying in private schools.
