BJP protests: Partymen target state govt on graft, flood threat
LUCKNOW: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) continued to target the UP government for the fourth consecutive day with senior party leaders staging sit-ins in various parts of the state, raising issues of law and order, women safety, power tariff hike among various other things on Thursday.
Spokesman for state BJP Chandramohan said, “In Bareilly, union minister of state Santosh Gangwar took on the state government while in Baghpat state BJP chief Laxmikant Bajpai slammed the ruling party for being ‘anti-farmer.’ In Lucknow, it was UP BJP legislative party leader Suresh Khanna who led the protests.”
Incidentally, the BJP added another issue to its list of protests on Thursday – the looming threat of floods. Chandramohan said, “The sudden increase in water level of rivers exposes the state’s PWD department which reports to an influential minister. In fact, it exposes corruption in the department.”
