Badaun rape victim complains of severe pain, shifted to Bareilly hosp

BAREILLY: The 14-year-old girl, who was allegedly raped by two persons in Civil Lines area of Badaun on June 23, was shifted to a private hospital here after her condition deteriorat­ed suddenly due to serious stomachach­e on Thursday afternoon. Hoever, she is stable now.

The victim’s sister said, “She ( victim) went to the women’s police station t o get her statement recorded. Afterwards, she complained of severe abdominal pain and became unconsciou­s. She was rushed to the district hospital from where doctor referred her to a private hospital in Bareilly.”

A senior police officer from Badaun accompanie­d the kin who brought her to the private hospital here in an ambulance. The girl regained consciousn­ess after doctor gave her treatment at the hospital in Bareilly.

“Her sugar level was low when she was admitted here. She was given glucose and revived. Her condition is stable now,” said Dr Vimal Bhardwaj, who attended the girl.

samples of the girl were being tested to find out the cause of stomachach­e. “Samples have been sent to pathology for examinatio­n. We are waiting for the reports which are likely to come by late evening,” Dr Bhardwaj said. Two persons had allegedly raped the girl on June 23. The FIR in this connection was lodged on June 28. Medical examinatio­n confirmed rape. The medical report said that the girl’s private parts were mutilated and one of the kidneys swollen.

Police have so far arrested three persons, two on June 28 and and one on July 1. Another medical examinatio­n of the girl was done on Tuesday by a panel of three doctors.
