LUCKNOW: To flaunt his computer skills and settle personal scores, a Rae Bareli youth hacked his exemployer’s e-mail and Facebook IDs and posted objectionable content on employer’s social networking page.

The youth, Shankar Singh, had hacked the IDs of Tarang Singhal, who runs a technical and professional training institute here in Hazratganj area.

The officers of UP Special Task Force (STF) arrested the accused on Wednesday after tracking his location in Rae Bareli’s Mahrajganj locality.

The STF handed over the accused to Hazratganj police station where an FIR had been lodged under different sections of IT Act on August 18.

“Shankar hacked Singhal’s e-mail and Facebook IDs to settle personal scores as the latter had removed him from job over some issue,” said Triveni Singh, additional SP (ASP), STF.

He said, Shankar even wanted to flaunt his computer skills to his former female colleagues who were in touch with him even after he was removed from the job after two years.

The ASP said the accused was key suspect in the case from the beginning itself, as the training centre employees had informed police that he used to flaunt his hacking skills even while working there.

The accused often used to track down e-mail IDs, passwords and other details of employees to boast his computer knowledge, the ASP said.
