Anand, Khushi notch up upset wins to enter singles semi-finals of AITA tourney

Local challenger Anand Gupta continued his winning spree in the AITA Championsh­ip Series Tennis Tournament, upsetting fourth seed Devansh Agrahari in a thrilling encounter here on Wednesday.

Playing on the home surface at the Vijayant Khand Stadium, Anand outplayed Devansh 6-7 (9), 6-4, 6-1 to make it to the boys under-14 singles semi-finals.

The second upset of the day came in the girls singles quarterfin­al when unseeded Khushi Sharma brushed aside sixth seed Advancy Gold Simth 4-2, 3-5, 8- 6 also in a thrilling battle.
