Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit his Lok Sabha constituency on Friday during which he will launch several schemes relating to power and road sectors worth about Rs 50,000 crore, inaugurate a trauma centre in Banaras Hindu University and address a public meeting at DLW ground.

The Special Protection Group (SPG) has taken over security arrangements at Diesel Locomotive Works (DLW) and multi-purpose grounds. The SPG team landed in city on Tuesday and carried out inspections at the two venues that will host the PM. A large number of police and paramilitary personnel have been deployed to maintain law and order and control traffic.

Also, senior superintendent of police Jogendra Kumar held a meeting with police officials and discussed the security plan.

CCTVs have been set up at the pandal from where the PM will address a rally. Four air force choppers have also been deployed.

A delegation of siksha mitras plan to call on the PM at DLW ground. District magistrate Rajmani Yadav has appealed the siksha mitras not to visit Varanasi on Friday and cooperate with the district administration in maintaining law and order.

The teachers are upset over the quashing of regularisation of their service following a recent judgment of the Allahabad high court.

This will be the PM’s third visit to his constituency after becoming prime minister in May last year. Previously, he visited Varanasi on November 7 and December 25 last year.

In 2015, this will be his first trip to Kashi. Heavy rainfall has forced cancellation of his visits to the town on June 28 and July 16. This trip was planned in consultation with weather department who ruled out rainfall. PM’S SCHEDULE
