Thakur seeks copy of FIR against him
LUCKNOW: Suspended IPS officer Amitabh Thakur on Thursday demanded a copy of the FIR registered against him and also the inquiry report prepared by the vigilance department.
Thakur went to the vigilance office in the day and handed over an application to the duty clerk present there.
As the office was closed on account of local holiday, no senior official was present. “I handed over my application to the duty clerk demanding copies of the FIR and inquiry report prepared by the vigilance department,” Thakur told HT.
The state government had ordered a vigilance probe against Amitabh Thakur on charges of disproportionate assets.
Last week, Thakur had also met chief secretary Alok Ranjan demanding an impartial probe against him in disproportionate assets case.
During the meeting with the chief secretary, Thakur had accused the vigilance establishment of not providing him an opportunity to present his case.
“I have only two assets, one is a piece of land in my ancestral village and another a house here in Lucknow,” said Thakur.
“My wife has nine properties which have nothing to do with me. She has been an income tax payer even before our marriage,” Thakur clarified.
Thakur sought an explanation from the vigilance establishment regarding assets that had been mentioned in the report as his personal property.
“I have requested the chief secretary to provide me the list of my assets which has been prepared by the vigilance establishment during the course of inquiry,” said Thakur.
