ARMED, CIVIL POLICE TO BE MERGED

The state government has decided to merge the armed police with the civil police. IG (Law and Order) A Satish Ganesh said now the constable would have single cadre of civil police. The 28,084 posts of armed police would now be merged with 2,23,044 civil police posts, he said.
