KHAWAJA CAN STAKE CLAIM FOR NO. 3: LEHMANN
Pakistan-born Usman Khawaja can stake claim for a long-term Australia Test spot and has the technique to cement his role at No 3, coach Darren Lehmann said on Monday. Khawaja, 28, looks good for a long run after past hiccups and a serious injury, in a new-look Australia team. The Queensland left-hander will get his first chance in the opening Test against New Zealand starting at his homeground Gabba on Thursday. “We know he is a great technician and he has time which is important at this level,” Lehmann said.
