Lucknow boy’s poem wins first prize

LUCKNOW/ NEW DELHI: A Class 12 boy of Lucknow has won the Creativity Expression Contest organised jointly by the Ministry of External Affairs and CBSE during the India-Africa Forum Summit. The poem on Mahatma Gandhi by Vikas Pandey of Class 12 of Rameshwara­m Internatio­nal Academy, Lucknow was declared winner in the 9 to 12 category at the national level. His Hindi poem ‘Gandhi aur Africa’ has clinched the prize of `40,000.

LUCKNOW/ NEW DELHI: A Class 12 boy of Lucknow has won the Creativity Expression Contest organised jointly by the Ministry of External Affairs and CBSE during the India-Africa Forum Summit.

The poem on Mahatma Gandhi by Vikas Pandey of Class 12 of Rameshwara­m Internatio­nal Academy, Lucknow was declared winner in Class 9 to 12 category at the national level. His Hindi poem ‘Gandhi aur Africa’ has clinched the prize of `40,000.

His poem runs into 700 words and it is in 72 lines. It starts like this: Ek Pravasiya Bharatiya Ne Likhi Amar Mahagatha…….

Expressing happiness over his feat, Vikas said that writing Hindi poem is his passion.

“Vikas was invited by External Affairs Ministry to attend the ministeria­l session of the India-Africa Forum Summit on October 27 in New Delhi. He also witnessed the IndiaAfric­a Forum Exhibition and met External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj,” said Abha Shah, principal of the Academy.

The Ministry of External Affairs in collaborat­ion with CBSE conducted the Creativity Expression Contest for the III edition of the India-Africa Forum Summit.
