Shivpal takes to social media to connect with people
LUCKNOW: Senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leader and public works department (PWD) minister Shivpal Yadav on Tuesday joined the league of politicians active on the social media.
Yadav officially launched his facebook account, twitter handle and a websitewww.shivpalyadav.com to connect with youths and constituents at a function organised in Lucknow.
Yadav’s social media activity and image building exercise would be managed by a professional firm, I Lead GURU.
Apart from this, the minister also launched a mobile phone number 9696172737 for the public. By giving a missed call on this number, one can connect with the PWD minister. The caller’s number would be registered and the minister’s team would call back to interact with the caller.
A video autobiography of Shivpal Yadav was also released on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Yadav said: “Social media has become a powerful tool to connect with the masses. Now, no one can remain aloof from this powerful medium (social media).”
“I will come to know about problems faced by the people of Uttar Pradesh through their feedbacks on social media. My ministry and the state government will also be able to make masses aware of the welfare schemes run by the government thorough social media,” Yadav said.
The minister would update people with the latest information of his departments, projects and future plans through his website.
Highlighting the social media’s role in effective communication, the PWD minister stated that it had become imperative to connect with people and know their feedback about the governance and its projects through social media.
Vikas Sahni, chairman and managing director of ILEADGURU, said: “The company will handle social media accounts of PWD minister Shivpal Singh Yadav and help him in connecting with people.”
Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav is already active on social media with a twitter handle and a facebook page. A dedicated team of professionals handles the chief minister’s social media activity. His twitter feeds and facebook updates are regular.
If everything goes as planned, Shivpal would be the most active SP leader on social media after the chief minister.
