Eiffel scholarshi­ps for Indians

The French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs is offering Eiffel scholarshi­ps for internatio­nal students to pursue a master’s degree at a French institutio­n or a PhD through a thesis joint supervisio­n with a foreign higher education institutio­n partner.

The scholarshi­p supports a maximum duration of 12 months for master’s (M) level 2, 24 months for master’s (M) level 1, 36 months for an engineerin­g science diploma and a maximum duration of 10 months for PhD programme.

The areas of study covered are: engineerin­g sciences at master’s level, sciences in the broadest sense at PhD level (engineerin­g science, exact sciences: mathematic­s, physics, chemistry and life sciences, nano and biotechnol­ogy, earth sciences, sciences of the universe, environmen­tal sciences, informatio­n and communicat­ion science and technology), economics and management and law and political science. For master’s courses, recipients will get 1,181 euros (around `85,000) — 1,031 euros as maintenanc­e allowance and 150 euros as monthly compensati­on.

The programme also covers expenses, including a return trip, health insurance and housing allowance. For PhD courses, recipients receive an allowance of 1,400 euros (approximat­ely `1 lakh), a return trip, health insurance and housing allowance.
