AKTU to award scholarships to students
LUCKNOW: Dr APJ Kalam Technical University on Saturday decided to award monthly scholarships to its meritorious students.
The decision was taken at an important meeting presided over by prof Vinay Kumar Pathak, VC of the university.
Students of engineering colleges affiliated to AKTU would be entitled for this scholarship.
Students pursuing graduation level courses would be entitled to `1000 per month. A maximum of top two students in each subject would be awarded the scholarship.
At the post graduation level, top two students in each subject would be entitled to `1200 monthly. It was also decided to award a one -time cash prize of `21,000 to those students of the university who cleared IAS or IES examination, conducted by the UPSC. Another important proposal passed at the meeting was related to participation of teams from engineering colleges, affiliated with AKTU, at the national level competitions.
It was decided to reimburse teams participating in the competition for registration and for travelling expenses. However, only 20 teams in a year would be entitled to this reimbursement. It was also decided to make the evaluation process of answer sheets more transparent, accurate and time-saving. To start with, online evaluation of answer sheets of M Tech, M Pharma, M Arch, MBA and MCA courses would be carried out. In this process, every answer sheet would be scanned and teachers would be required to evaluate copies online and award marks.
It was also decided to interconnect all departments of AKTU through computerisation.
