Jai Narain PG College win cricket tournament

Jai Narain PG College beat National PG College by 49 runs in the final of the Chandra Bhanu Gupta Cricket Tournament played at the KD Singh Babu Stadium here on Saturday. After being put into bat, the JNPG College batsmen amassed an impressive total of 91 runs for the loss of 5 in the stipulated 10 overs. Opener Abhishek Yadav was the star of the show as he scored a blistering 38 of 25 balls.

Other batsmen played around Abhishek as they reached an above par total. Rudra Singh and Nihal Singh took a couple of wickets each fir National PG College. The run chase of National PG College never gathered pace as they kept losing wickets at crucial points and the eventually fell short of the target by 49 runs.

Abhishek Singh (14) and Shiva (16) were the only two National PG College batsmen who got into double figures. Vikas and Piyush got a couple of wickets each as they bagged a couple of wickets each as the National PG College team

Secretary XI beat CAL XI by 45 runs in a league encounter of the Under 14 Super League played at the Multi Activity Centre here on Saturday. Batting first the Secretary XI scored 196 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 45 overs. In reply, the CAL XI could only manage 151 for the loss of 5 wickets in their allotted quota of overs.

In the next line of fixtures Chairman XI will play Secretary XI on coming Monday while President XI will be pitted against CAL XI on Tuesday. TENNIS TOURNEY

A tennis tournament is being organised at SDS Academy, Gomti Nagar in the memory of advocate SB Lal from 8th November to 15th November.

All players of SDS Academy and players of other the academies of Lucknow including veterans will be participat­ing in the tournament.
