Scores of visitors thronged the Colvin Taluqdar College ground to participate in Index 2015, the annual event of Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, on Saturday. Hindustan Times is a media partner of the event.

Apart from a number of fun games and activities, the visitors were enthralled during two major events of the day: Lucknow Idol and Footloose. Both competitions saw a flood of visitors lining up for a chance to perform and get a shot at fame.

Lucknow Idol, based on television singing programme Indian Idol, was open to all. Diwakar Agarwal won the first position while Hitendra Kumar and Shreya Pandey were declared the runners-up for their soulful renditions of popular songs.

In the junior category, Aradhya Srivastava emerged as the show stealer and won the first prize while Anugrah Agnihotri, Sankalp Kushwaha and Adiya were declared the runners-up.

During Footloose, a dancing event, participants put on mesmerising performances on latest hits.

The spectators were captivated with the performance of Aditya Shukla, who danced on ‘Main hoon hero tera’ and Arya Mishra on ‘Chitiya Kalaiyan’.

Thousands of persons from all over the city visited the event along with their families. Many of them were repeat visitors from the previous years.

“What sets it apart from a multitude of fests held in Lucknow is the variety of attractions that are tailored to suit the tastes of people from every demographic profile,” said Ankita, a class 12 student, who visited the fair.

As the fair attracts a large number of visitors each year, it provides a unique platform for the students to conduct market research through specially designed games.

“These games, with a wide variety of exciting prizes to be won, are themselves one of the major attractions which makes Index so popular,” said Papiya, a hosuewife.

The day ended on a high with a captivating performance by DJs from Vibe Nation.

The event was inaugurated by Dr Sushil Kumar, dean, Academic Affairs, IIM, Lucknow in the afternoon.
