ARMY KILLS NDFB(S) CHIEF INVOLVED IN 2014 ADIVASI MASSACRE

A dreaded commander of the banned NDFB(S), Jaola Basumatary, was killed in an encounter with the Army at Deigudung village in Chirang district under BTAD (Bodoland Territorial Area Districts) on Saturday. Defence spokesman Lt Col Suneet Newton said the slain militant was involved in the December 2014 Kokrajhar carnage, where Adivasis were killed. “The NIA had registered three cases against him in this regard and was on the lookout for him. A pistol, which the terrorist used to fire at the SF, has been recovered, along with some ammunition,” he said.
