MYANMAR IS IN THE THROES OF A MAJOR TRANSITION
It has been reported that Myanmar leader Aung San Suu Kyi has won and her party, the National League for Democracy, captured almost 90% of the seats in the elections. Suu Kyi has called for reconciliation talks with the military in order to avoid a confrontation. Besides, Myanmar’s information minister, Ye Htut, has promised that the election outcome will be respected at all costs. In fact, this is a positive gesture. The main point is that Myanmar is in need of a major transition in terms of growth and peace.
