LUCKNOW: Union minister of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) Kalraj Mishra said here on Sunday that rural India would help in realising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s most prestigious programme ‘Make in India’.

Mishra was in the state capital to inaugurate a khadi exhibition at Government Inter College, Nishatganj.

“Rural India will play an important role in realising PM Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ programme. Training centres for spinning khadi are being set up in villages all over the country,” he said.

“Those passing out from these business incubators (training centres) are being provided loans under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme to set up their own khadi spinning units,” he said.

Mishra also informed that his ministry had started online submission of forms for availing loan under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme.

On Bihar election results, the minister said they would have no bearing on the coming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, where BJP was in a formidable position.

In the recently concluded Bihar assembly polls, the BJP and its allies won 58 seats in the 243 -seat assembly against the grand alliance’s 178 seats.

Following this debacle, veterans of the BJP, including LK Advani and MM Joshi, have demanded assessment of the Bihar defeat and fixing responsibilities.

“Every state has its own political equations and dynamics. Bihar and Uttar Pradesh are two different states with different political equations, ”Mishra told newsmen.

Commenting on the possible impact of Bihar election in coming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh scheduled in May 2017, the union minister said: “Bihar election results will have no impact in Uttar Pradesh. In UP, the BJP is in a commanding position.”

Mishra also denied that BJP president Amit Shah had given any statement advising leaders above 60 years of age to quit politics.

“He (Amit Shah) has been misunderstood, ”said Mishra.

At a function in Chitrakoot, Madhya Pradesh, on November 14, the BJP president had advised leaders over 60 years of age to quit politics.

Shah’s statement was presumed to be against party veterans including LK Advani, Yashwant Sinha, MM Joshi and Shanta Kumar, who had demanded assessment of Bihar election defeat.

Mishra, who is Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from Deoria district, about 323 km from the state capital, also asserted that PM Modi was not responsible for the Bihar defeat.

It may be pointed out that after the Bihar loss, four BJP MPs from the state had openly spoken against Modi holding him responsible for the defeat.

Shatrughan Sinha (Patna Saheb), Hukum Deo Narain Yadav (Madhubani), RK Singh (Ara) and Ashwani Choubey (Buxar) had held Modi responsible for the party’s Bihar debacle.
