With just 24 hours left to finalise a detailed plan for smart city, the district administration, along with Lucknow Municipal Corporation, has pressed the button for increasing voting in the smart city portal so that they can get the maximum points in public participation. District magistrate Raj Shekhar has sent messages to all schools and colleges of the district to increase the online voting and give suggestions online.
Based on the detailed plan prepared by 100 local bodies selected in the first round, only 20 would be selected for the second round. The public interaction has got weight of 16 numbers in overall ratings. From October 1, when the voting started, nearly 10,000 netizens have voted, while in the same period other cities of the state have recorded more votes than the state capital.
The citizens can register and vote for smart city on mygov.in. They can give their suggestions the discussion section.
Additional municipal commissioner PK Srivastava said that the detailed report would be prepared based on the suggestions of the people. All the points made by the common man would be given a place in the report.
“Besides voting, LMC has conducted special camps to seek public view. We have made a video recording of each camp which would be sent to the centre with the report. A number of proposals to upgrade city transport, increase tourism, preserve heritage and promote cultural tourism have been accommodated in the detailed report,” said Srivastava.
State liaison officer, NSS, Dr Anshumali Sharma has appealed to all the NSS volunteers of degree colleges and universities to vote and give their ideas for smart city. Not only this, they must motivate their family members and friends too to give their suggestions so that the city does not lag behind in the smart city race.
However, going by the voting pattern, till now Lucknowites gave top priority to their heritage. But now they want to see Lucknow develop as an educational and IT hub.
