BHALSWA DAIRY’S DEAD 25-YEAR-OLD YIELDS A GHASTLY NECROPHILIA TALE

NEW DELHI: A 16-year-old was apprehended for allegedly raping and murdering his neighbour before sexually assaulting her corpse near Bhalswa Dairy in northwest Delhi’s Mukundpur, police said on Monday. A 22-year-old accomplice of his is on the run.

The minor had alcohol with four friends on Friday night, after which three of them left around 1am and the 22-yearold identified as Abhimanyu expressed a desire for sex, police said. The minor then suggested that his neighbour, a 25-year-old woman who lived alone, could be their target for sexual assault.

The accused broke into the woman’s first-floor house through an adjoining terrace and gagged her before taking turns to rape her, during which she fell unconscious.

As she tried to resist after regaining consciousness, they strangled her to death and dumped the body in a thickly wooded area nearby where they performed sexual acts on the corpse.

“The teenager was apprehended with the help of local intelligence and questioning of some 100 suspects in the locality. He broke down and confessed to the crime when confronted with the evidence,” Vijay Singh, deputy commissioner of police (northwest), said.

The woman’s family found her semi-naked body in the wooded area after a daylong search on Saturday. A mini-truck used in the crime and the victim’s phone were recovered after the teenager was apprehended on Sunday.
