POLICE SUSPECT INSIDER ROLE

-

Police suspected the role of an insider in the crime and believed that the girls’ mother had recognised the assailants, but fainted after the incident. There may be some tussle within the family that led to the crime, said cops. Rajesh Yadav, CO, Krishna Nagar said it was very strange that the assailants murdered the two sisters and did not hurt the other family members. Besides, there was no forced entry into the house. The assailants’ intention was not robbery, as they had not taken away any valuables, so personal enmity could be behind the killings, he said. The CO said three persons, including Rekha’s husband Chhote Lal, a resident of Mohanlalganj had already been taken into custody for interrogation. The two others were Ravindra Yadav and RK Shah, who stays on rent in a shop constructed on the ground floor of the house. Yadav said Rekha was married to Chhote Lal in April but hardly used to stay in his house. A villager told cops that the two sisters had strained relations with their brother’s wife and they often used to scuffle over property issues. The house was divided into portions after intervention of villagers and the sisters stayed in the above portion while their brother and his wife stayed on the ground floor. He said the girls’ brother and his wife were also unhappy with his father’s decision, as he had sold out around five bigha of his farming land for Rekha’s marriage and was again planning to sell out another 10 bigha for Savita’s marriage.
