LUCKNOW: Noted industry leader Ratan Tata has lauded chief minister Akhilesh Yadav for his ‘style’ and ‘progressive thinking’ and said he hoped of ‘working together’ with his government in the coming days.

“I have come away with great admiration for your style and your progressive thinking. I do hope that we will find ways to work together in the future,” said Tata in his letter to chief minister on November 30, 2015.

Tata’s letter of praise comes as a shot in the state government’s arms at a time it makes efforts to woo investors and holds the first NRI Day at Agra on January 4 and 5, 2016. It comes within a week of his visit to Unnao where Tata had attended a function with the chief minister and assured his full support to development of Uttar Pradesh.

“The development programmes you have initiated in the state are most impressive. These will absolutely change the perception of the investment climate in the state,” said Tata, who is chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons. At the Unnao programme too Tata had said he was ‘impressed’ with the development of Uttar Pradesh.

Referring to the brochure and other publications that chief secretary Alok Ranjan presented to him, Tata said he would go through the documents and seek ideas to explore what investment could be made in the state. While summing up, Tata has also indicated that he would meet the chief minister again this month saying, “I understand we are meeting in December in Lucknow on the nutrition project and I look forward to being together with you again at that time.”
