LUCKNOW: A man in khaki uniform often visited the room of deceased woman home guard Archana Rawat (29), who was found murdered in a well in Hapur’s Simbhawali area, over 400 km from here on Saturday afternoon.

Her family members alleged that the prime suspect was this man in khaki, who always carried a revolver. The suspect often interacted with the deceased on mobile phone.

Archana’s sister-in-law Rani Rawat told media persons that Archana lived alone in a separate room at her maternal house in Vijaipur village of Vibhuti Khand while her three brothers Kamlesh, Harish Chandra and Surendra lived separately.

Rani said the man, whom Archana called Pradeep, often visited around a year ago and they even had verbal duels over some issue. She said Pradeep was dressed in khaki and carried a revolver, so the entire family believed that he was a police man.

“Several times I objected Pradeep’s frequent visit to Archana’’s room at odd hours but she stalled me. Archana and Pradeep even had verbal duels over some issue but she never clearly informed us about the latter,” she said.

She said Pradeep used the dialect of wester n UP and Archana’s body was also found on Moradabad- Delhi route in Hapur. She emphasised that the railway ticket found in Archana’’s belongings also suggested that she had boarded the train from Lucknow for Moradabad. There was the possibility that the same man had taken Archana along and murdered her, she suspected.

Rani said Archana interacted with somebody on phone before leaving the house at around 4 pm on December 16. She said the deceased left on her Honda Activa scooty and took along some belongings in a bag. She said Archana informed before leaving that she was going with a police team for raid in Ludhiana but did not mention anybody’s name and was missing since then.

The police probe so far has confirmed that the deceased left the house telling a lie to her family members that she was going to Ludhiana. Archana’’s friend Sonia Kashyap, who is also a home guard, told her family members that she last interacted with Archana on mobile phone on December 16. The deceased had then told Sonia that she was going to her elder sister Vindhyeshwari, who stays in Jahangirabad, Barabanki MOBILES, SCOOTY AND BAG MISSING

Archana Rawat carried three mobile phones but none of her handsets was found near the body. Besides, her scooty and bag are also missing. The city police are trying to locate her scooty as she would have parked it somewhere before boarding the train to Moradabad. They are searching vehicle stands near the railway station to trace the scooty. CALL DETAILS SOUGHT

Senior superintendent of police (SSP), Rajesh Pandey said the city police had sought call details of three mobile phone numbers being used by the deceased.
