Like happiness, problems too are a part of life

People often say don’t get tensed. Doctors also suggest it. There are many medicines in the market to get rid of stress, but it is important to understand the nature and reason of tension before encountering it.

In life, it is impossible to be tension-free. Since the dawn of time, tension has been a part of man’s life. First it was food, then safety, and so on. Just the form of tension changed with time. While in the Stone Age, food and security of life was the priority, today it is job and luxury. Tension in itself is nothing. It is just a way of thinking. Everyone knows humans can’t stop thinking. Occasionally, we do think hard about something but it’s just a short phase — as soon as we stop thinking, our nerves settle down. But when we think about something for a long time, it worries us, leaving us with a headache, or anxiety. At times, it even becomes next to impossible to take our mind off our problems and it’s all we can think about. This phase of helplessness is called ‘tension’, described in simple words as a feeling of nervousness that makes you unable to relax.

We must realise that excessive thought is what leads to this situation and as far as possible, we should avoid dwelling on problems. They are, after all, a part of life — always try to take a short break to clear the mind. It is helpful in reducing stress.

Yoga is also helpful, especially in our modern, fast life to encounter stress. Always remember, thinking is important to find out the solution of any problem, but when thinking becomes a problem then there is no solution. So control your thoughts and enjoy life.
