Two rickshaw pullers, prime suspects in the sensational gang rape and murder of a Class 12 student, were subjected to intense interrogation on Sunday, which was video recorded.

Cops got the custody of the two rickshaw pullers, Satguru and Deepu, on Sunday after the CJM court on February 20 ordered seven-day police remand for them.

Not willing to waste the opportunity, cops started the interrogation of the duo on Sunday. The entire interrogation was video recorded so that the rickshawpullers may not retract their statements later.

It may be pointed out that the girl went missing after she left her house in Jankipuram for her school in Vikas Nagar on a bicycle on the morning of February 10. However, she did not reach school and the CCTV footage suggested that she went near the Golf Club on her the bicycle.

Her parents lodged an FIR of disappearance with the Jankipuram police.

The girl’s cell phone location was traced on February 13 to Haidergarh, the native place of Satguru. Cops recovered the cell phone from his mother.

Thereafter, the two rickshaw pullers were tracked down on February 14 in Lucknow. Later, on their revelations, the girl’s body was recovered from behind the Lucknow zoo on Park Road.

Two caddies of the Golf Club Michael and Naseer, who were also aware of the body lying on the spot, were taken into custody for quizzing on February 16.

As part of the interrogation and ongoing investigation in the sensational gang rape and murder of a teenager, the two caddies and the rickshaw-pullers would have to face each other during interrogation.

“All of them will be brought together during interrogation so that no one can retract his statement and contradict each other,” said a senior cop.

NO CLUE OF SCHOOL BAG, BIKE

The mystery behind the student’s missing bicycle and school bag deepened further on Sunday when both the rickshaw-pullers and the two caddies refused any knowledge about the missing articles.

“All four of them refused any knowledge about the school bag and the bicycle,” said a senior cop.

Now, it being speculated that a passerby might have stolen the student’s bicycle and the school bag after the girl parked the vehicle on Lohia Path and took the stairs down to reach a secluded area behind the Lucknow Zoo to attend nature’s call.
