DM urges for developing 100 model primary schools in Uttar Pradesh

District magistrate Raj Shekhar has said efforts should be made to develop 100 model government primary schools which can be replicated in all other schools of the state.

Speaking during an interactiv­e session on institutio­nal collaborat­ion on social developmen­t at Hindi Sansthan on Saturday, the DM also noted that transforma­tion of government primary school was a challengin­g task but it was the high time to start taking steps for their transforma­tion.

Organised by I-care, the event aimed to increase participat­ion of colleges in Ankuram programme and personalit­y building of students through field level exposure.

The DM said all village panchayats and block panchayats should give priority to developmen­t of basic facilities in schools in coming financial year. Principal secretary higher education, Jitendra Kumar said necessary directives will be soon be issued in this regard.

Udai Pratap Singh, chairman, Hindi Sansthan, said no changes could be brought without improving quality of primary education. “Primary and higher education are interlinke­d so they should be seen in totality,” he said.

Moderating the session, Atul Kumar Gupta, former chief secretary, stressed on linking Ankuram programme with various social work schemes and communitie­s of the state. Founder of I Care India, Anoop Gupta explained the summer internship programme to students.

Ankuram is an initiative of I Care India that aims to transform government primary schools in collaborat­ion with UP government. I care India is a social organisati­on dedicated to developmen­t of children studying in government primary schools.
