DM urges for developing 100 model primary schools in Uttar Pradesh
District magistrate Raj Shekhar has said efforts should be made to develop 100 model government primary schools which can be replicated in all other schools of the state.
Speaking during an interactive session on institutional collaboration on social development at Hindi Sansthan on Saturday, the DM also noted that transformation of government primary school was a challenging task but it was the high time to start taking steps for their transformation.
Organised by I-care, the event aimed to increase participation of colleges in Ankuram programme and personality building of students through field level exposure.
The DM said all village panchayats and block panchayats should give priority to development of basic facilities in schools in coming financial year. Principal secretary higher education, Jitendra Kumar said necessary directives will be soon be issued in this regard.
Udai Pratap Singh, chairman, Hindi Sansthan, said no changes could be brought without improving quality of primary education. “Primary and higher education are interlinked so they should be seen in totality,” he said.
Moderating the session, Atul Kumar Gupta, former chief secretary, stressed on linking Ankuram programme with various social work schemes and communities of the state. Founder of I Care India, Anoop Gupta explained the summer internship programme to students.
Ankuram is an initiative of I Care India that aims to transform government primary schools in collaboration with UP government. I care India is a social organisation dedicated to development of children studying in government primary schools.
