Hosts judokas win sub-junior titles

LUCKNOW: Hosts Uttar Pradesh judokas staged a fine performanc­e to win the sub-junior titles in both blind and deaf on the penultimat­e day of the four-day 3rd National Judo Championsh­ip, at the KD Singh ‘Babu’ Stadium here on Sunday.

In the deaf category, UP won six gold, six silver and three bronze medals, whereas Haryana finished runners-up with two gold, four silver and five bronze medals. In the blind category, UP had three gold, five silver and four bronze medals, whereas Chhattisga­rh stood second with two gold and three silver medals.

FITRNESS RUN Suleman Khan and Vijay Laxmi emerged victorious in the men and women’s sections, respective­ly of the fitness run, organised by the Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies-Noida here on Sunday. Over 300 runners in different age categories took part. Abdul and Rakesh Kumar Yadav finished second and third, respective­ly in the men’s section, whereas Sudha Pal and Sudha Yadav had the same honour in the women’s section. DUA CRICKET SPIS defeated MECC by 35 runs in the opening match of the PP Dua Memorial T-20 Cricket

Tournament, at the Christian PG Collage Ground here on Sunday. In other match of the day, Leaders Club defeated Dental Strikers by 10 wickets.
