FSDA raids at stores selling ‘Patanjali’ products
Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA) teams raided stores selling ‘Patanjali’ products in various parts of the city on Wednesday.
Samples of three different products were collected from these outlets. The action came a week after a pack of a ‘Patanjali’ Aonla Morabba was found having wrong information about its date of manufacture and weight.
Samples of ‘Patanjali Cow Ghee’ and ‘ Patanjali Sonpapdi’ were picked up from ‘Bonus Retail’ in Nehru Nagar (Kalyanpur) while a sample of ‘Patanjali Turmeric Powder’ was taken from ‘Prem Patanjali Store’ on Hardoi road in Thakurganj.
SP Singh, designated officer, FSDA said: “The department is not targeting anyone, but performing its duties as it has the responsibility of ensuring quality food products for citizens.”
The teams also collected six samples of other food items from various outlets. Samples of milk sweets and curd were collected from ‘Marri Gold Sweets’ and ‘Radhe Krishna Dairy’ in Rajajipuram while samples of paneer and Maggi noodles were picked up from ‘New Janata Dairy’ in Rajajipuram and Manohar Super Distributors in Khalabazar respectively.
The officials also took samples of khurma (sweet) from Arun Sweets in Mallahi Tola (Thakurganj) while a sample of tomato sauce was collected from ‘Dileep General Store’ in Musahibganj.
