Rashtriya Swayam Sewak Sangh general secretary (Sah Karyavah) Suresh Bhaiyyaji Joshi said here on Saturday that reservation on economic basis should be discussed on a separate platform without disturbing the existing quota system formulated by Dr BR Ambedkar.

Interacting with the media here, Joshi said, “Those getting the benefit (of quota) should decide till what time reservation should continue.” All deserving castes should get the benefit of reservation,” he stressed.

Replying to a question, he said homosexuality was a personal matter and according to him, it was not necessary that the Sangh should have an opinion on every subject.

He called homosexuality as ‘moral deterioration’ which did not have sanction of society. He, however, defended the comment of another senior RSS leader and said that he had also said it was not acceptable to society.

When asked about those attacking RSS and comparing it with ISIS, Joshi said, “Although those targeting the RSS are well read, they do it intentionally to create fear about RSS in the mind of the common man.”

He urged political leaders to rise above this ‘narrow thinking’.

Reacting to the JNU incident, Joshi said the matter was in court and if charges of antinationalism were found correct, the accused should be penalized. He admitted that some elements in JNU were attacking nationalism and blamed ‘samyavadi’ (left) ideology for this.

On the beef party in Agra, he said the incident should first be verified properly. “If true, it is a matter of concern”.

Joshi praised the Modi government, saying the common man was feeling proud to have such a leader. He justified India’s Pak policy and said the nation wanted friendly relations with neighbours.

He said change in dress code was not a major issue as RSS was known for its services and not for its dress code.
