-

Former director general of police Mahesh Chandra Dewedy shared his experience of policing days, incidents of hardheadedness, dishonesty of public servants and politicians in his book ‘Interesting Exposures of Administration’, which was released here on Sunday.

Contents of the book are mainly satirical narration of incidents. In his book, Dewedy has also dealt in detail about the often ‘blow hot and cold’ relationship between IAS and IPS fraternity.

Speaking at the launch, Dewedy said: “Contents of my book are mainly satirical expression of the incidents of hardheadedness, heartlessness, haughtiness, ignorance and dishonesty of public servants and politicians.”

Chairperson of the event, senior journalist K Vikram Rao, said: “The book is an honest and impartial representation of facts. The writer has not only exposed weaknesses of others but also of his department and even his mistakes.”

A chapter in the book ‘choose your time and place’ has brought into public domain weaknesses in the training of IAS officers, stated Rao.

Dewedy’s book also has an adverse commentary on promotions in the police.

On the occasion, book ‘Ruhelkhand ke Paramparagat lokgeet’ penned by Neerja Dewedy, wife of Mahesh Chandra Dewedy, was also released.

“In my village Dataganj in Badaun district, I used to listen folksongs recited during birth of a child, marriage, festivals and other auspicious occasions. My book is a collection of these songs,” Neerja Dewedy said adding, “As these folksongs are becoming things of the past among younger generation, I decided to compile them in the form of a book.”

“For bringing out this book, I contacted villagers of Dataganj and its adjoining regions to compile folksongs,” she added.
