Body of missing bank employee found, poisoning suspected

LUCKNOW: A 27-year-old employee of a city bank Pradyuman Singh, who was missing since Monday night, was found dead on the roadside near Mandi Parishad office in Vibhuti Khand locality here on Tuesday morning. The body bore several injury marks. However, the cops stated that the death was caused apparently due to poisoning. The body has been sent for postmortem.

The elder brother of the deceased, Abhimanyu Singh told the cops that Pradyuman along with his parents Chandravee­r Sing hand Chan draw a ti returned from his home district Behraich on Monday morning. He said Pradyuman dropped his parents at polytechni­c crossing and asked them to reach his house in Takrohi, Chinhat while he left for Nishatganj with an assurance to return in a few hours. Pradyuman did not return for the entire night and the next day his body was found lying on the roadside.

The police ascertaine­d his identity from an identity card recovered from his clothes and informed the family about the incident. Satyendra Rai, station officer (SO) of Vibhuti Khand police station said the deceased was under stress after separation from his wife Saroj last year. He said the deceased was married in 2012 but his married life remained troubled since the beginning. The deceased’s family alleged that his wife’s brothers Vijay Kumar Singh and Manoj Kumar Singh used to threaten him regularly and demanded Rs six lakh for separation. The SO said the victim died apparently due to consumptio­n of some poisonous substance.
