Sreedharan satisfied with LMRC work
E Sreedharan, principal advisor, LMRC, visited the state capital on Wednesday and reviewed various ongoing works of the Lucknow metro rail project including the civil, electrical and mechanical (E&M) works and the operational & maintenance (O&M) preparedness with regard to commissioning of the priority section of the project.
Starting the physical inspection in the morning, he along with Kumar Keshav, managing director, LMRC, took an update of the physical progress of work going at metro stations while on his way along the metro alignment from Transport Nagar to Charbagh.
The LMRC MD made a presentation before Sreedharan on the security arrangement being planned for Lucknow metro and O&M preparedness for commissioning of the priority section.
Sreedharan was happy to note that O&M staff recruitment was already in progress. He stressed on putting in place these O&M staff at the earliest so as to impart the requisite training to them in their respective fields for commissioning of the priority section as per the target stipulated by the government.
He also agreed with the security arrangement being planned for Lucknow Metro as a ‘Hybrid Model’ with the combination of government security by UP Police and private security by Lucknow metro administration. The principal advisor took a briefing on the electrical traction works in progress including mast erection on metro viaduct for over head electrification (OHE) of the system.
He reviewed the pace of ‘tracklaying’ works in the depot and at the Transport Nagar Metro station and communicated his satisfaction over the progress.
The ‘Metroman’ also reviewed the progress of work of 255-metrelong ‘special span bridge’ being constructed at Mawaiya and had a detailed discussion on it.
Sreedharan expressed satisfaction over the progress of work so far both for the civil work as well as the systems like the rolling stock, signalling, traction, track, and electrification etc.
