The move is seen as an attempt to send across a strong message to LMRC team that there would be no compromise with safety in construction work.

Following his instructions, a three-member director-level inquiry committee has already been constituted to probe into the incident and a report is expected in the first week of May.

L&T officials apprised the team of safety and precautionary measures taken by them in the aftermath of the incident.

The LMRC managing director conveyed his dissatisfaction to higher officials of L&T who came from the head office and directed them to ensure proper safety measures with immediate effect. Inspecting the work done for the cross arm of Alambagh metro station where the accident occurred, Keshav directed the L&T team to carry out a detailed safety audit for a couple of days.

Later, he reached the KGMU trauma centre to meet a worker who got injured in the mishap. Keshav had a word with the worker and assured him all possible help and monetary assistance. He asked the L&T officials to take extra care of the patient and keep him update about his health condition.

Meanwhile, the LMRC managing director held a meeting with his team and L&T officials to review the detailed project methodology of construction along with the safety norms and checks to be followed.
