AGRA: When Asha Teerath, a tourist to Agra, forgot her purse in an auto-rickshaw on Sunday evening, she had no hopes of finding it back. However, she was in for a pleasant surprise when auto driver Ravindra Kumar contacted her and returned her purse containing valuables on Monday.

Ravindra, who works at Agra Cantt railway station, got a contact number from an identity card found in Asha’s purse and later returned her purse.

He is a member of ‘Lapka To Apka’ (LTA), a group engaged in helping tourists in the time of need. Ravindra also informed LTA president Anil Sharma that a lady had forgotten her purse in his auto-rickshaw.

Sharma said Ravindra Kumar, who is a resident of Sohalla, found in his auto-rickshaw the purse of Asha Teerath, who came from Pune.

“When we checked the purse, it had a cash of ` 5,000 and some identity cards. We got a contact number of one of the family members written on an identity card. We made a call on that number and informed the person about the purse we found. He gave us the mobile number of Asha Teerath. On Monday, the lady contacted us and reached our office to collect her purse. She was all praises for Ravindra and and also thanked the LTA team for the noble work,” Sharma said. The woman also gave some money to Ravindra for his honesty and the pains he took.

Sharma said it was not the first time that Ravindra had helped a tourist. Earlier, he had helped a tourist from Kolkata.

A father of three, Ravindra was a perfect role model for many people in the city, Sharma added.
