Lessons on recycle and reuse for kids
LUCKNOW: It was time for the students of St Francis’ College, Hazratganj to learn a few lessons on how to make use of recycled products during Earth Day celebrations on Friday. Discovery Kids’ popular superhero Kisna inspired and motivated kids to make a difference on this Earth Day.
The students joined Kisna in ‘best of waste activity’ which promoted the idea of recycling to save our environment. Kids used material such as old buttons to make bracelets, pieces of cloth, ice-cream sticks and old bottles to make useful and decorative items like a photo frame, a bracelet, a pen stand among other things. Regional Science City, Lucknow is commemorating Earth Day in association with Prithvi Innovation by organising various programmes and activities during two-day event. To mark the day, various contests were organised which were started with ‘Earth Dance’. The main theme for the event was “Tu Kitni Achchhi Hai, Pyari-Pyari Hai” which is associated with our mother earth and her care. This was followed by a contest titled “Foodtoons”. In this contest the students suggested ways to preserve food and stop food wastage through wonderful cartoons. Around 100 students participated and expressed their ideas. SKD ACADEMY
All the five branches of SKD Academy celebrated Earth Day with enthusiasm by planting saplings. In each branch of the academy, children along with their parents planted variety of plants and took a pledge of keeping the earth green and clean. DPS ELDECO
DPS Eldeco celebrated the Earth Day with a myriad of educational and fun-filled activities. A special assembly marked the event to sensitise children about the importance of saving environment. During events like the “Environmental children’s drawing contest” children painted their thoughts on conservation of nature. GD GOENKA SCHOOL
Earth Day was celebrated by students at GD Goenka School. The activities included pledge taking, power point presentations on ‘Green Energy’, creation of beautiful crafts from recycled items and special assembly by students. The occasion was marked by sensitising the young eco crusaders to generate awareness among their family and friends about taking care of the environment.
